Easy A-line Mini Skirt

This skirt is a few months old, but I haven't blogged about it because there's not much to it... in every possible way.  I picked up this linen blend from JoAnn's with plans for an A-line skirt.  It turned out well, but I would love to have 2-3 more inches at the hem.  :-)  I'm afraid of a wardrobe malfunction.  Can you tell I'm over-compensating with layers on top?!
I didn't use a pattern for this.  I used my waist and hip measurements and drafted a quick bias-cut skirt from there.  With the drapiness of the bias-cut, I didn't even need darts.  There is a narrow waistband and a side zip.  Easy-peasy.
I hope everyone is having a great start to summer!  We've made the first leg of our summer trip (discussed a bit in the podcast) and are relaxing in Ohio.  Visits to a new-to-me yarn shop and fabric/quilt shop are on the itinerary today, so I'll keep you posted!

  1. Very cute skirt, Jenny! You have great legs for that length, and IMO (for what it's worth), the skirt is a good length. Wear it proudly!

    1. ps. It was so nice to meet you last week at Miguel's. It was a bit loud, though, and hard to chat, so next time a quieter spot is in order!

  3. Thanks, Andrea and Myra! It's just fine until I want to sit on the floor or something. :-)

  4. Wear it while you're young. I know I did. Can't believe how short my skirts were in early 70's but I even kept one and it was much shorter than yours!!
